Our Mission

The mission of the Church of the Nazarene is to make Christlike disciples in the nations.

Agreed Statement of Belief

These are the beliefs Nazarenes hold to be true:

  • We believe in one God-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.
  • We believe that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil.
  • We believe that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.
  • We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.
  • We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.
  • We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.

DAVE NESS

SENIOR PASTOR

Who am I? A servant of God. That’s it! From asking Jesus into my heart at the age of five to answering a call to preach at 16 to school at Mid-America Nazarene University, followed by Nazarene Theological Seminary, to the nearly 30 years of ministry which have followed, there is nothing like serving God! I love being a pastor and I love North Seattle Church of the Nazarene! I also love the wonderful wife and two children God has given me. My wife, Joy is an elementary school teacher.

My first ministry assignment was to plant a church in Cordova, Alaska. Subsequent pastorates were in Carson, Washington and Longview, Washington, as well as interim assignments in Gig Harbor, Kalama, Carson (again!) and North Seattle, where the Lord made it clear I was to accept another long-term pastoral assignment after first serving as an interim here. In 2005, I began a non-profit ministry called Servant Connection, dedicated to the spiritual transformation of America. Hundreds of devotionals I have written are available through the Servant Connection web site: http://PrayingforAmerica.org.

If you are looking for a church family, I highly recommend this one! It took me about two hours to fall in love with these people. Your experience might be the same. Just ask the Lord for direction, and He will be faithful to show you the way to go. If God leads you to fellowship with us, we will consider it a privilege.
God bless you! Choosing to serve Him is the best decision you’ll ever make.

LAURIE ROGERS

CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR

I first came to NSCN back in 1993 through family and a neighbor who both happened to attend here. From the first time I walked through the doors of NSCN, I was welcomed with a warmth from the people like I had never experienced in any church before.

I have two grown kids, Jake and Alyssa and a beautiful granddaughter, Autumn. I was fortunate to be able to dedicate, raise, and then see my kids get baptized at NSCN. I am happily married to Bill Rogers who is not only my husband but my best friend.

Back in September of 2001, I was asked if I could come and fill in at the church office for a couple of weeks while they searched for a new staff person. Well, that was over fifteen years ago and here I still am. I've been honored to be a part of the staff and of the church family at this great church called North Seattle Church of the Nazarene. During the time I've attended and worked here, I've been involved in Children's Ministries and Youth Ministries and many other ministries by default of my job.

If you feel led, please come and visit us - you just might end up calling NSCN your home too.
